Razzie Nominations 2014: Naomi Watts, Will Smith, Ashton Kutcher Among Year’s Worst Nominees

Naomi Watts and Ashton Kutcher

Pfffffttt! Pointing a finger at the year's worst in film and film performances, this year's Golden Raspberry Awards — better known as the Razzies — have been announced, and not even the most A-list of stars were spared from ridicule. While flicks like Gravity, American Hustle and 12 Years a Slave are expected to rule Thursday morning's Oscar nominations, on the other side of the spectrum, last year's Grown Ups 2 dominated the Razzie noms, with eight nods total. The poorly received comedy sequel was singled out in all major categories, including worst picture, sequel, ensemble, screenplay, lead actor for Adam Sandler, supporting actor for Taylor Lautner, supporting actress for Salma Hayek and director for Dennis Dugan.

Other Worst Picture contenders include The Lone Ranger, Tyler Perry's A Madea Christmas, Will and Jaden Smith's After Earth, and star-studded comedy "anthology" Movie 43, which featured Kate Winslet, Richard Gere and Halle Berry. Indeed, After Earth, A Madea Christmas and Movie 43 "tied" at second with six nominations total.

Despite much-anticipated biopic roles last year, both Ashton Kutcher and Naomi Watts fell very, very short of expectations in their respective portrayals of the late Steve Jobs and Princess Diana, and both stars scored acting nominations in their categories.

The Razzies will be handed out March 1 — one day before the Academy Awards.
