Get a good look! Luann de Lesseps shows off her engagement ring to her friends, eliciting a mixture of responses, in The Real Housewives of New York City‘s Wednesday, July 20, episode, as seen in Us Weekly‘s exclusive sneak peek.
The Bravo series’ preview clip features the Countess, 51, letting her costars admire her new bling from fiancé Tom D’Agostino Jr. The ladies learned secondhand in last week’s episode that Lu — who divorced Alexandre de Lesseps in 2009 — had gotten engaged to the businessman.
“Put away the daggers, ladies, because it’s really happening,” de Lesseps says to the camera.
Sonja Morgan, who endured drama in 2014 surrounding her commitment ring to now ex-boyfriend Harry Dubin, clearly feels a variety of emotions about the unveiling.
“This situation is so loaded because she’s coming in with an 8-carat, murky-yellow diamond, when I had a near-flawless, 4-carat, D flawless side diamond,” Morgan says. “I’m just like — oh, god. I’m so happy for her, but …”
Relishing her moment in the spotlight, de Lesseps makes sure to describe every detail of D’Agostino Jr.’s romantic speech.
“He was going to propose in Vail, and I kind of knew it because he was like, ‘This is going to be a trip you’ll never forget,'” she says to the ladies. “We’re sitting there. He’s like a kid — he’s got the ring in his pocket, basically. And he’s like, ‘I just cant wait — will you marry me?’ And he gets on his knees in front of the fire. It was unbelievable.”
D’Agostino Jr. has been a source of tension this season, as Ramona Singer previously dated him, while Morgan has hooked up with him.
