These two are the whole package! Rumer Willis and Val Chmerkovskiy have something very special planned for their upcoming freestyle routine on the Dancing With the Stars finale. The actress and her partner are pulling out all the stops for their performance — and Us Weekly has the exclusive details!
A source tells Us that the duo will be doing their freestyle to a cover of Britney Spears' 2003 hit single "Toxic" — performed by none other than Willis herself! The star, 26, who's shown off her vocal prowess before in covers of Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" and Adele's "Rumor Has It," has been "working on it for weeks," the insider shares.
Chmerkovskiy is featured on the track, too — on violin! (As the DWTS pro, 29, revealed to Us in his "25 Things You Don't Know About Me" last November, he's a "classically trained violinist and played concertmaster violin with [his] youth orchestra in Carnegie Hall.")
"Linda Perry produced the song, and it's a really sexy, cool arrangement of Britney's famous tune," the source says. "They are super excited about it — it sounds absolutely amazing. Rumer's thrilled to finally share it with the world!"
Chmerkovskiy himself alluded to the news via Instagram on Friday, May 15, sharing a photo of Willis in the studio. "Spent a little time in the studio with @ruelarue + @jesusonmars – excited for you all to hear it!" he wrote. "Tune in to @dancingabc Monday night #DWTS #TeamValenRue"
DWTS fans will get to hear it for the first time during Monday's show, but it'll also be available on iTunes after the episode.
Willis (the eldest daughter of exes Demi Moore and Bruce Willis) is one of three finalists left in the season 20 race for the Mirrorball Trophy. Nastia Liukin and Derek Hough were eliminated during last week's semifinals, leaving Willis and Chmerkovskiy, Noah Galloway and Sharna Burgess, and Riker Lynch and Allison Holker.
Tune in to ABC's Dancing With the Stars on Monday, May 18, to see how it all goes down!
