The Way Home is known for its twists and turns, and the fourth and final season will be no different — but will any questions be left unanswered?
“One never knows,” Chyler Leigh, who plays Kat Landry, exclusively told Us Weekly on Monday, April 13, teasing what’s to come when the season premieres on Sunday, April 19. “Our show creators, Heather Conkie, Alexandra Clark and Marly Reed, [did their best] to be able to tie up as much as we could within that limited scope. I don’t know how they do it.”
Evan Williams, who plays Elliot Augustine, joked that it’s “like a triple axel” in figure skating, hinting that the finale will be both beautiful and complicated.
Sadie Laflamme-Snow, who portrays Kat’s daughter, Alice, agreed, telling Us that the creators are “so intentional and in tune with what the audience is excited about” and what their characters want that fans will be happy with the ending.

“The thing about The Way Home that’s so special is it is made with a lot of care,” Laflamme-Snow, 26, explained. “There’s no part of us that wants to leave anyone left hanging, and that’s gone into every decision and everything that we’ve done this season.”
Leigh, 44, teased that even with the best intentions, the finale could leave some things open-ended. “You never know what happens with the pond,” she confessed. “We never know. We really don’t know. But it’s gonna be interesting [and it’s going] to be great.”
During season 3 of the Hallmark series, which concluded in March 2025, Alice discovered that her late grandfather, Colton Landry (Jefferson Brown), knew about the magical pond on their property before his death. She also met Colton while time traveling to the 1970s and the 1990s.
“She definitely feels like there’s unfinished business there,” Laflamme-Snow told Us of Alice’s continued journey back and forth from the ‘70s during season 4. “I think that the way that season 3 ends, you know, she has that Colton has that big confession about the pond, and then he denies all of it. And so that sort of puts Alice in a weird position.”

Despite being “obsessed with the past,” Laflamme-Snow revealed that Alice is “looking to her future” a lot more this season as she prepares to graduate high school and leave Port Haven.
“She has to, sort of, figure out what parts of Port Haven and her experience with the pond, [she] can take into her next steps in her life,” she added.
Del Landry (Andie MacDowell), the family matriarch, also took her first jump into the pond during the season 3 finale, going back to her and Colton’s wedding in 1975. Kat jumped with her and they shared the sweet moment.
While it’s been confirmed that Del will reunite with Colton before his death, Williams, 41, told Us that Del’s relationship with Elliot could take a hit after she hides a secret from him.
“It’s never as it seems on the surface,” Williams said of the complex story lines on the Hallmark series. “We’re going to get to see what’s behind [the secrets], and so definitely it’s gonna make things complicated.”

Kat, meanwhile, hinted last season that she would be going to a different time period — and meeting her great-grandma Fern (Jill Frappier) as a young woman — after previously traveling to the 1800s to find her missing brother, Jacob (Spencer Macpherson), who is now back in present-day.
“Kat gets to have a little bit more fun,” Leigh told Us of her season 4 journey. “I can’t spoil too much, but I would say the characters in 1925 are so phenomenal. It was just so much fun.”
Kat’s relationship with childhood best friend Elliot was also tested during the season 3 finale, but Elliot vowed that one day he would propose to her.
The actors exclusively told Us on Monday that season 4 will show the proposal — but it won’t go off without a hitch.
“Oh no, certainly no complications,” Williams said in a mocking tone. Leigh joked, “It goes so smoothly. Happens right off the bat. I mean, yeah.”
Williams added that outside of Elliot’s love life this season, viewers will be “going deep” into his backstory. “The rewarding thing is that he has a mission, and I’m really excited to see that come on the stream and see who he can develop into, because there’s lots of potential there,” he added.
The Way Home’s fourth and final season premieres on Hallmark Channel Sunday, April 19, at 9 p.m. ET.
