Gina Kirschenheiter has declared she is pro-prenup, but that doesn’t mean she and fiancé Travis Mullen are preparing to walk down the wedding aisle anytime soon.
“I’m for it. I think everybody should do that. I think it’s smart,” Gina, 42, exclusively told Us on Thursday, August 6, of getting a prenuptial agreement. “I think it is just setting yourself up for financial success and I think it also eliminates a lot of the hard parts.”
The Real Housewives of Orange County star explained, “Should something happen ultimately, you know, that you don’t want to happen, should you get divorced, it takes a lot of the messiness out of it.”
Gina — who was previously married to Matthew Kirschenheiter, with whom she shares three children — noted that protecting one’s assets shouldn’t be seen as an act of distrust or a lack of love for your partner.
“If you love that person now, in my opinion, you should do that,” she said, noting that “a prenup is not just about if you get divorced, right? It’s just, like, good financial planning.”
Gina pointed out that she and Travis, 40, who is a father of three himself, have a business together that would have to be “handled” in the off chance that they call it quits.
“Also, you don’t know what’s going to happen in life in general. God forbid something happens to myself or Travis. I want to know what that looks like too,” she told Us. “And so I really think that everybody should sit down and do, like, financial family planning. It’s just smart.”
Gina knows better than most how quickly your life can change. When fans met the Housewife on season 13 of RHOC in 2018, she was married to Matthew.
The pair, who share sons Nicholas, 14, and Luca, 11, and daughter Sienna, 12, separated in 2018 after eight years of marriage.
The following year, Gina fell for Travis and the pair soon became their own modern-day Brady Bunch, bringing three children each into their blended home and family. (Travis shares Presley, Bennett and Joseph with his ex.)
After more than six years together, Travis proposed on New Year’s Eve in December 2025.
While Gina is confident she’ll have a prenup before getting married, she told Us that the pair have yet to pick a date for their special day.
“I’m not rushing it,” she said of planning her nuptials.
Gina, however, does know that all of her and Travis’ kids will be “very involved” in the ceremony.
“I really just have no plans to plan for really, like, the unforeseeable future,” she shared. “I want to do what I’m doing right now, which is taking care of my kids and building my business, and that’s what I’m focused on.”
Gina is also planning to send an RSVP to her RHOC costars.
“I would invite the whole cast. Yeah, I am really at a good place with everybody in my cast,” she said. “We have real relationships, real friendships.”
The Bravolebrity confessed, “I don’t know if I would invite in the cameras, but I would definitely invite all of my castmates.”
Earlier this season on RHOC, Gina and Travis talked about their future and whether she would take his last name while both agreeing to put off wedding planning.
While she wavered back and forth on the idea, revealing her hesitation was over having a different moniker as her children, Gina told Us on Thursday that she is leaning toward a hyphenate.
“I haven’t made an ultimate decision because I don’t have to decide about that,” Gina explained. “But if you were asking me today, I would probably hyphen my name, even though that’s insane.”
Gina said she’s aware that going by Kirschenheiter-Mullen might be a bit much, but noted she would like to “honor both people and both things and both of our feelings about it, and so I will take that bullet for everybody.”
Although Gina and Travis aren’t worried about when they will say, “I do,” the reality star revealed they are in a very good place at the moment.
“I just feel like our relationship is stronger than ever, but it’s still the same,” Gina gushed about life post-engagement. “We’re living as a family, and it just gave it, like, a more sense of respect and honor that I think it deserved, and that’s cool. But life day to day hasn’t really changed much.”
