Why choose between pizza or a burger when you can have both? Champion Pizza in New York City serves up a massive 40-pound cheeseburger pizza that’s made with layers of pizza dough and burger toppings, then finished like a pizza pie. Oh, and it costs a cool $2,000.

The founder and CEO of Champion Pizza, Hakki Akdeniz, tells Us Weekly that the gigantic, loaded pies take approximately three hours to make and require three days of advance notice because they are “really hard” to construct. In fact, because the pizzas are so large and heavy, it takes four people to hoist each pie into the oven to be cooked.

To make the enormous meal, Champion Pizza employees start with a pizza base that’s been dressed with burger toppings including lettuce, tomato and onions. They then gradually add layers of hamburger meat and mozzarella and American cheeses, which is all doused with ketchup. That entire process is repeated four times, meaning there is a quartet of cheeseburger layers before the pizza topper.

That final pie, per a Food Insider video, is then layered with its own 10-pound Kobe beef patty, which itself is topped just like a pepperoni pizza, meaning there’s a layer of crust, tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese and a heaping helping of pepperoni.

Akdeniz tells Us he plans to keep the cheeseburger pizza on the menu until Monday, October 15, and even though the two grand price tag is hard to swallow, he notes all of the profits from the dish will be donated directly to those who have been impacted by Hurricane Florence.

Since Akdeniz says he sells three to five cheeseburger pizzas per week, he and his team have already collected a good deal of money for those in need.
