Amy Poehler knows a thing or two about how to deal with a pesky hangover! Aside from starring in and directing the upcoming Netflix movie, Wine Country, the 47-year-old has picked up a few tricks of the trade throughout her life thus far.

As it turns out, the former Saturday Night Live cast member discovered her favorite hangover remedy after relocating from Chicago to New York City in 1996. “I used to love to go to the Pizzeria Uno — there used to be one in the West Village — get a pizza, and get my magazines and sit there and drink a giant Diet Coke and eat a pizza,” she told the New York Post of what she once did when a hangover hit. “Doesn’t that sound great?”

Though her old hangover haunt is long gone, Poehler’s love of wine remains. In addition to her turn in Wine Country, which centers around a group of pals celebrating a 50th birthday weekend in Napa, California, the Parks and Recreation alum is now the proud co-owner of a liquor store in Park Slope, Brooklyn, called Zula Wine and Spirits.

That’s perhaps part of the reason why the comedian jokingly supports the idea of “rosé all day,” which has become a beloved millennial mantra. “I think it’s great!” she told the publication. “These young people can rebound really fast, so let’s kick it up a notch … Make it rosé all week.”

Poehler is also not opposed to boxed wine, which she acknowledges is in the midst of a renaissance of sorts. As she sees it: “Things that used to be lame got cool, and things that used to be cool are now lame.”

Given that Poehler is a gal who knows how to appreciate a bottle (or box) of good vino, it’s no surprise that she drew on personal experiences when it came time to bring Wine Country to life. In fact, the flick, which debuts on Friday, May 10, is based on a real-life trip the actress took with gal pals (and the movie’s co-stars) Maya Rudolph, Tina Fey, Ana Gasteyer, Paula Pell, Rachel Dratch and co-writer Emily Spivey.

“Real stuff happened! Maya didn’t get bit by a snake,” Poehler explained of a slapstick moment in the comedy “But she did get bit by a black widow [spider] … we think!”
