Move over, mayonnaise-flavored ice cream, there’s a new odd variety of the frozen dessert in town and it’s here to steal your thunder!
Believe it or not, days after mayo ice cream generally repulsed in internet, Delish is reporting that Davey’s Ice Cream, an eatery in New York City, will soon be selling two ice cream flavors made with Président cheese.
According to the site, the flavor cleverly called “You Feta Believe It!” features Davey’s sweet cream ice cream blended with Président feta cheese. The not-so-sweet treat also contains Davey’s homemade guava curd, and a spiced pie crust crumble.
A second flavor named “The Présidential Sweet” sticks with the cheese theme and is also made with Davey’s signature sweet cream base, but this ice cream is instead blended with Président Creamy Brie, an oven-roasted garlic swirl and bits of brioche French toast. In other words, this variety has some serious sweet and salty vibes.
Per Delish, customers can get a double-dose of dairy for one week only – from Friday, August 3, to Friday, August 10. “You Feta Believe It!” will be sold at Davey’s East Village location, whereas “The Présidential Sweet” will be available for purchase at Davey’s Williamsburg, Brooklyn, store. Both flavors will sell for about $12 a pint at Davey’s Greenpoint, Brooklyn, outpost.
Though the interesting ice creams have yet to be released, the reactions to them can be described as mixed, at best. One person tweeted, “Barf city,” while another hypothesized that this is a sign a dog food ice cream flavor could be next.
On Davey’s Facebook page, however, a few people expressed interest in trying the ice cream, though others were unsure.
