Chick-fil-A could be expanding its menu with help from an American staple. The popular fast-food chain has apparently been testing mac and cheese at a handful of locations across the country in recent weeks, and if the positive feedback is any indication, the cheesy dish might soon be debuting on Chick-fil-A menus nationwide.
The Georgia-based company first mentioned mac and cheese in a Chicken Wire post from November 2017, noting the classic comfort food would be part of new family style meals (as a side) being rolled out in 22 restaurants based in Nashville, Tennessee. At the time, Chick-fil-A noted that if the meals designed to feed multiple people performed well, there was a chance the rest of the country might get a chance to give them a shot, mac and cheese included.
However, though family-style meals aren’t yet a staple at the popular chicken-based restaurants, the mac and cheese seems to have endured. It has been added as a side to certain menus, including restaurants outside Charlotte, North Carolina, in Willis, Texas, and in Maryland, according to Delish.
And even though Chick-fil-A hasn’t formally confirmed (or denied) that mac and cheese will be officially joining its menu, the chain did responded to a Twitter user who praised the rich side on October 13, writing: “We’re glad to hear you’re a fan of our Mac and Cheese, Jonathan! Thank you for sharing your feedback with us!”
What’s more? Customers at the aforementioned Chick-fil-A locations who have been lucky enough to get a taste of the mac and cheese have nothing but good things to say about it, while those who haven’t had it can’t wait for a bite. Check out some of the overwhelmingly positive reactions below:
