Who says you can only eat Thanksgiving food on the third Thursday in November? Chrissy Teigen, who plays by her own food rules, had a craving for some of her favorite autumnal holiday staples on Saturday, March 30, so despite Turkey Day being about eight months away, she made a Thanksgiving feast.

“It’s been too long since Thanksgiving. I’m gonna make Thanksgiving dinner tonight, the 33-year-old tweeted on Saturday. Interestingly enough, Teigen, who is vocal about her dislike of turkey, didn’t include the star of the holiday in her festive dinner. When a follower asked about her poultry of choice, she replied, “I’m gonna do a roasted chicken like I do on Thanksgiving! Butter all up in the skin.”

Though some of her Twitter followers assumed the Lip Sync Battle cohost was joking, she was absolutely serious about cooking up some stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy in March. “It’s happening,” she tweeted along with a video of her and her mom, Vilailuck, hard at work in the kitchen. In fact, Teigen even used a chicken recipe from one of her own cookbooks as part of the elaborate meal.

When it came time to stuff the chicken, Teigen’s daughter, Luna, nearly 3, got up on the kitchen counter to help. “She’s a fishy,” the toddler declared before mom corrected her.

And, since she’s a woman of many talents, Teigen even used pieces from her own Cravings cookware collection at Target to assist her in cooking this tasty, albeit off-season, Thanksgiving dinner.

“Wasn’t joking,” she later tweeted alongside a video of all the food she prepared once the cooking was complete. The feast, which included (at least) two chickens, mashed potatoes, stuffing and gravy, caught the eye of Brooklyn Nine-Nine alum Chelsea Peretti, who commented, “Please marry me.”

“Ok but I like TERRIBLE movies!!” Teigen replied in a nod to the actress’ filmmaker husband, Jordan Peele.

This cooking frenzy came in the midst of a candid revelation from Teigen that she is currently 20 pounds heavier than she was before she gave birth to her son, Miles, who was born in May 2018. “He’s 10 months old, I never lost the last bit because I just love food too much,” she tweeted. “Just coming to terms with my new normal, when I had this certain number for so long!”

Not surprisingly, many fans shared positive reactions to Teigen’s honest tweet. “I’m trying to come to terms with my new normal too (after second baby.) Thanks for sharing,” wrote one. Added another: “This healthy attitude toward food and weight is SO HELPFUL for people to see. Thank you for sharing this!!”
