Why have one bread bowl when you can have two? Panera Bread is reportedly testing a double bread bowl that will give customers the option of enjoying two soups at a time, and social media users are freaking out.
Per The Philadelphia Inquirer, the City of Brotherly Love is the first locale on the list to test and review Panera’s newest menu item, and it’s expected to debut at locations in Philly starting on Sunday, August 5.
The double bread bowl features two holes carved into one loaf of bread, which, according to the newspaper, can then be filled with any Panera soup or mac and cheese combo. In other words, it’s a carb-lover’s dream come true.
The new creation is designed so customers can share their meal with others – Panera suggests splitting the loaf “with your BFF, significant other, or even a coworker” – but portioning out the bread bowl may be harder than it looks thanks to a shared bread “wall” in the middle.
Plus, why split it up when you can enjoy the carb-loaded behemoth all by yourself?
Though the double bread bowl is only expected to be available upon request at Philadelphia Paneras from August 5 to Friday, August 31, the fast-food chain is already toying with the idea of rolling it out nationwide thanks to the overwhelming response it has gotten on social media thus far.
