Teresa Giudice’s Diet With Teen Daughters Sparks Heated Social Media Debate: ‘Let Them Be Kids’

Teresa Giudice is in hot water with several social media users. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star caused quite a stir on Instagram on Tuesday, June 11, when she shared a photo of her daughter, Milania Giuduce, posing in a sleeveless navy and black dress.

Though the snapshot of the 14-year-old was innocuous, several Instagram users took issue with Teresa’s caption. “Getting my daily #macros in with the help of @absolutenutritioncounseling and perfectly personalized meal plans by @bvdahan customized just for me, Gabriella and Milania” the 47-year-old wrote. She later added that she and her middle daughters are “totally ready” for summer.

Teresa’s controversial post also featured multiple hashtags, including “#longevitymeals, #healthyeating, #macronutrition,
#customizednutrition, #designermealplans, #registereddietitian and #enjoyinglifeiseverything.”

Absolute Nutrition Counseling, the company Teresa mentioned in her post, is a New Jersey-based business. According to the brand’s website, its goal is to
arm people “with the tools necessary to make healthy choices, to empower you to trust your own decisions and to encourage you to stay the course and exceed your goals.” Absolute Nutrition also boasts that it will “transform you into your own best coach.”

Though Teresa’s post didn’t implicitly mention dieting, the intimation is that she, Milania and Gabriella Giudice, 15, are looking to lose weight as summer approaches. For many, this was a step too far. “She’s a CHILD. This is so f––ked up,” wrote one naysayer. “Shame on you.” Added another: “You put your girls on diets? Let them be kids. Jesus Christ.”

Still, the Giudice gals also had many supporters in their corner. “I WISH the adults in my teen years did this for me!” wrote one Instagram user. “I learned all my bad eating habits as a teen from other teens and have spent my adult years trying to unlearn them. Good on you, T!”

As another fan put it: “You’re setting a great example for your daughters of how live a healthy life!”

In recent months, Teresa has been open about how maintaining a healthy lifestyle has kept her grounded amid her own personal struggles. When husband Joe Giudice’s deportation appeal was denied in April, Teresa coped by heading to the gym.

And when the reality TV personality was serving her own 11-month prison sentence for bank, mail, wire and bankruptcy fraud in 2015, she found solace first in yoga and then in body building. “It was something I’ve always wanted to do — for myself,” she told Us Weekly of the latter activity in 2018. “I’ve gone to the gym since I could drive. I wanted to see my body transform.”
