Wendy Williams has some choice words for Kim Kardashian. The talk show host took aim at Kardashian during the Hot Topics segment on the Tuesday, May 21, episode of The Wendy Williams Show because of the reality star’s mysterious tweets calling out Jack in the Box, which were posted the previous day.
“Kim Kardashian is mad at the fast-food restaurant Jack in the Box,” Williams, 54, began. After recalling how the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 38, vaguely called out the eatery via tweet stating she had a “serious complaint” she wanted resolved “pronto,” Williams made her feelings known.
“Who does she think she is?” the Wendy’s Got the Heat author asked as her audience applauded. Though Williams acknowledged Kardashian’s work with prison reform and her quest to become a lawyer, she made it clear she wasn’t a fan of Kardashian shading the restaurant in front of her more than 60 million Twitter followers, especially since the KKW Beauty founder didn’t share the specific nature of her gripe.
“Don’t string people along,” Williams declared. “What this sounds like is you’re using your celebrity and your newfound business head for pomposity and bullying.”
Added the Wendy Williams Experience alum: “There’s not a bone in me that believes she’s complaining because they left cheese off of a burger. It’s not like that. Maybe they saw a worker being mistreated or a worker do something wrong or something wasn’t right in the restaurant so she was pissed.”
Though Williams acknowledged Kardashian likely “wanted to do good for the people,” she took issue with the aspiring lawyer’s approach, noting, “The way she went about it just makes her sound like an ass.”
As it turns out, plenty of Twitter users (including a few famous ones) agreed. After Kardashian shared her initial tweets on Monday, May 20, many came to Jack in the Box’s defense. “Hey, Jack In The Box, I just want to say I know you’re trying your best and I hope you’re having a great day,” Stephen Colbert tweeted.
According to Williams, Kardashian should have dealt with her issue in a more covert way. “You should have picked up the phone and called corporate, and talked about it behind the scenes,” she said. “Please don’t become that bully online, because right now you’re bullying Jack in the Box.”
Though Kardashian never elaborated on the nature of her “complaint,” she did clarify it was regarding ”something that I observed that affected other customers.” She later indicated via a follow-up tweet that the issue had been resolved, and even thanked Jack in the Box “for the quick response and handling the situation!”
