'Amy Schumer Learns to Cook' Season 2: See What Amy Is Whipping Up With Husband Chris Fischer

Amy Schumer Learns to Cook returned for a second season on Monday, August 17, and the comedian and her husband, Chris Fischer, are whipping up a whole new crop of delicious dishes and drinks. For example, in the premiere episode, the couple, who tied the knot in a surprise ceremony in February 2018, prepared several of their favorite frozen foods from scratch. While Schumer, a former bartender, made a batch of piña coladas, Fischer, who is a trained chef, showed his wife how to make pigs in a blanket as well as pot-stickers and potato skins. In the second half of the episode, the duo tackled some of their favorite children's foods that are also a hit with adults, such as frozen hot chocolate. The Inside Amy Schumer alum posted the recipe for their creation on her Instagram Stories hours before the debut of season 2. The twosome's version of this sugary beverage is made with chocolate chips, sugar, cocoa powder and whole milk and features a whipped cream and dark chocolate topping. [jwplayer jpLZnoIx-l3ahXupL] Other kiddie favorites that Schumer and Fischer cooked together included ricotta pancakes with "a shocking but undetectable amount of broccoli," a refreshing couscous salad made with broccoli and peas as well as beef and kale meatballs. The premise of the Food Network show, which had its series premiere amid the coronavirus pandemic in May 2020, is that the I Feel Pretty star, who admittedly isn't a great cook, gains confidence in the kitchen (as well as some useful cooking knowledge) with Fischer's help. In season 1, for example, Schumer learned how to poach an egg and roast a chicken. "Never in my life did I think I was going to know how to poach an egg," she quipped at the time. The program, which is filmed in Fischer and Schumer's home, with their nanny, Jane, holding the camera, was renewed for a second season in June. "We are happy to be coming back for a second season because sequels are always the best!” the Trainwreck star said in a statement at the time. “Chris and I are proud to be partnering with Food Network to donate to Colin Kaepernick’s Know Your Rights Camp whose mission is to advance the liberation and well-being of Black and Brown communities through education, self-empowerment, mass-mobilization and the creation of new systems that elevate the next generation of change leaders." Spaghetti With Pomodoro and Basil

The third episode of season 2 was takeout-themed and began with Schumer and Fischer whipping up the simple Italian dish. It was made with a baked tomato sauce, which the actress puréed in a blender. See the recipe here.

Shrimp in Lobster Sauce

"Amy introduced this dish to me in a Chinese restaurant," Fischer explained, noting that he was surprised to find out the meal doesn't actually contain lobster. To make the titular sauce, Fischer used soy sauce, cornstarch, egg whites and more. His wife deemed the finished meal "perfect." Here's the recipe.

Salmon and Avocado Sushi Rolls

"I cannot believe we're making sushi," Schumer said, noting that she thinks "great rice" is the secret to the Japanese staple. The twosome made tuna hand rolls and a salmon avocado roll, which was "so good." Check out the recipe here.

Mini Grilled Cheese

"I like to put a generous amount of butter on both sides of the bread," Schumer explained as she prepared her dish. Her version was made with whole wheat bread and plenty of mozzarella cheese. Get the recipe here.

Gazpacho

Though not exactly a finger food, Fischer rationalized the inclusion of this dish in the episode by serving it in a shot glass. The cold soup was made with olive oil, tomatoes, garlic, cucumber, green onions and stale pita bread. See the recipe here.

Pizza Bagels

Margaritas

The second episode of the season had a picnic theme, so Schumer started things off by making margaritas. "This is a drink I created on my own," she joked. Her version of the cocktail was "pretty classic" and included tequila, Cointreau, fresh lime juice, margarita mix and a splash of orange juice.

Pine Nut and Peanut Butter Brownies

Dubbed "the world's thinest brownies" by Fischer, these treats were made with peanut butter chocolate chips and topped with pine nuts.

Pesto Pasta Salad

As Fischer noted, the pesto used in this dish was made with basil from the couple's garden. It was one of Schumer's favorite dishes.

Chicken Cutlet BLT

Schumer declared this meal one of her deli "favorites." The sandwich is made with breaded chicken, sliced tomato, mayonnaise, bacon, cheese and celery root strips. "[Gene] is going to eat this right up," she added.

Watermelon Celery Root Salad With Lime and Mint

"You know what it is about this salad that makes it such a hit is the catchy, easy way to say the name of it," Schumer quipped. The refreshing summer dish is made with raw watermelon, lime juice, olive oil and salt, and it's topped with ricotta salata.

Sazerac

The latter half of the second episode was dedicated to soup and salad. Schumer's drink of choice was a Sazerac, which is made with absinthe, Angostura bitters, orange bitters, whiskey and simple syrup.
