Candles light the fire in our hearts. No matter the time of year, we always have a candle burning. They smell amazing, of course, but they can also make for beautiful decor, and we love them to properly set a mood. Whether we’re getting into a cleaning mindset, looking to chill out or hoping to impress a date, we’re burning a candle.
Bed Bath & Beyond is home to so many candles with gorgeous scents and designs of so many different kinds. If it were up to Us, we’d try every single one, but candles can have long burn times and it would take us potentially forever, especially if new exclusive brands like Bee & Willow are going to keep coming out! That’s why we picked out five of our favorites, finding the best of each category.
Best springtime candle: Bee & Willow Home White Peony & Freesia 14 oz. Jar Candle
What it is: The Bee & Willow Home White Peony & Freesia 14 oz. Jar Candle is a floral candle that combines white peony and freesia scents to create a fragrant aroma that makes even the stagnant air inside our home seem like breezy, fresh air on a beautiful spring day. It sits inside a cottage-style jar, which features the adorable Bee & Willow logo. It has a metal twist lid and boasts 80 hours of burn time!
Why we love it: This candle really sets the mood for spring. Just how the scent of hot cocoa or a fireplace makes us feel like snuggling up and staying home, the scent of white peony and freesia makes us feel energized and ready to take on the world with a clear mindset. We also love that this candle is made with white wax with black accents on the jar. The black-and-white look is classy and sophisticated, and it will, of course, go in any room with any decor. It’s a great blend of rustic and modern and its fresh scent has us looking toward the future!

Best flameless candle: Candle Impressions Melted Top Drip Flameless Wax Pillar Candle with Vanilla Fragrance
What it is: The Candle Impressions Melted Top Drip Flameless Wax Pillar Candle with Vanilla Fragrance is a battery-operated, cream-colored flameless pillar candle with a faux melted drip design. It offers the same illumination as any regular candle, but without the actual fire. Just flick on the switch! This flameless candle has a vanilla scent that permeates when it’s “burning” as well, not leaving out any details.
Why we love it: We had to include a flameless candle because this one is just too great. The melted design is so convincing, especially if we place this candle in a holder. Since it’s battery-operated, we can place it anywhere we want. And it actually has a scent! All without dealing with lighting matches, cutting wicks, cleaning up soot or worrying that we left a candle burning when we’re already out for the day. No burning down the house with this flameless candle. Just basking in its glow.

Best wooden wick candle: WoodWick HearthWick Flame Seaside Mimosa Candle
What it is: This scent of the WoodWick HearthWick Flame Seaside Mimosa Candle was designed to mimic a cold drink we’d enjoy on the shore, relaxed and with no responsibilities. It’s a blend of juicy citrus and sparkling champagne grapes, and it features a wide wooden wick that audibly crackles as it burns.
Why we love it: What’s not to love? This candle comes in multiple shapes, but we have heart eyes over the oval. It brings elegance into our home, and its warm yellow shade reminds us of a soothing sunset. The sound of wooden wicks crackling can be mesmerizing, and watching the light of the flame dance is a unique and fun experience. Plus, we just like any candle that can make us feel like we’re on vacation, even if we’ve been watching movies on our living room couch for hours.

Best calming candle: Chesapeake Bay Candle Mind & Body Breathe 3-Wick Jar Candle
What it is: The Chesapeake Bay Candle Mind & Body Breathe 3-Wick Jar Candle has three wicks and is infused with essential oils. The top fragrance notes include sea salt, beach daily and Italian bergamot, while the bottom notes include marine, oakmoss and musk scents, providing an overall clean and calming aroma. This candle comes in a blue jar with a wooden top.
Why we love it: This candle is all about self-care. Right on the jar, it tells us to “breathe.” Its natural scents are perfect for a night of stress-free relaxation. We can burn this candle while doing some restorative yoga, meditating or just hanging out in bed with our laptop, letting our troubles melt away with the wax. We’re going to have trouble blowing the fire out when it’s time to go (because we won’t want to).

Most delicious-smelling candle: Bee & Willow Home Spiced Vanilla & Cream 16 oz. Enamel Tin Candle
What it is: The Bee & Willow Home Spiced Vanilla & Cream 16 oz. Enamel Tin Candle features the warming scent of spicy vanilla and the coolness of smooth cream. It sits in a tin with black and white enamel coating for a rustic-chic effect. This candle has 70 hours of burn time and is recommended for placement around our patio, kitchen or bedroom, though one shopper said they actually kept it in their car!
Why we love it: First of all, spiced vanilla and cream scents? Yum! We wish we could pour this into a mug and drink it, but it’ll last much longer in candle form. This candle is perfect for chilly nights in, or even during hot weather when we miss our winter flavors. No need to overheat with a hot drink when we can just light a candle instead!
