Weddings are expensive. For the bride and groom, sure, but we meant for us guests! We need to buy a gift, often pay for travel and a hotel room and, most importantly, buy a new outfit to wear!
Expenses can add up quickly, especially during peak wedding season, so we picked out five wedding guest dresses and jumpsuits that won’t break the bank, but will still have us looking like stars on the dance floor all night!
RACHEL Rachel Roy Floral-Print Fit & Flare Dress
Whether we’re headed to an outdoor or indoor wedding, a few extra flowers never hurt anyone! This blooming dress is navy with a gorgeous ivory/yellow flower print. It has a flattering fit-and-flare silhouette with a self-tie belt to further cinch the waist, while adding a cute bow accent. This dress has a halter neckline and a hem that falls just below the knees. It would pair perfectly with a pair of nude or metallic shoes!
Vince Camuto Faux Wrap Jersey Jumpsuit
Don’t want to wear a dress to a wedding? Then don’t! Jumpsuits are just as classy and beautiful when done right, and obviously, Vince Camuto did this one right. It has pockets, after all! It features a surplice neckline, a back-zip closure and a tie around the waist, and while it has a shiny and structured look, it’s actually super soft and stretchy! Shoppers are calling it “dreamy” and one reported that the first time they wore theirs, the compliments were “unending!”
Betsey Johnson Puff-Sleeve Scuba Dress
The designers just keep on coming! Betsey Johnson is famous for her fun and over-the-top pieces, but here she proves that she knows how to handle simplicity and elegance with ease. This knee-length dress features delicate puff sleeves and a sleek sheath silhouette. Though it has a slimmer fit, shoppers are calling it “surprisingly comfortable” and “flattering!” This dress is currently available in five colors, but we can’t necessarily recommend wearing the white to a wedding. Maybe to our own bridal shower or engagement party though. Just saying!
BB Dakota Renley Lace Fit & Flare Dress
The bride isn’t the only one allowed to wear lace to a wedding. This short, lacy dress uses the fabric brilliantly without stepping on any bride’s toes. It has a bateau neckline with an illusion effect where the cotton lining ends, and it flares out above the knees for a super fun, super adorable flounce. Shoppers love the “breathable” fabric and how comfortable this dress is, saying “everyone should have one in their closet!”
Emerald Sundae Sweetheart Side-Slit Gown
Going to a wedding with a dress code more on the black-tie side? This is the dress to wear. We’ll be the best-dressed guest for sure, and all for under $50! This dress has a beautiful notched sweetheart neckline and a high side slit, ensuring a va-va-voom effect that will turn heads. It also features flattering wrap detailing at the waist! Shoppers are saying this dress is “a hit at a wedding,” one noting that “the slay was real” when they wore it. We’re convinced!
