Remember the adidas Adilette sandals? Well it’s time to welcome them back into your closet! It will be a warm welcome, too, because everyone knows just how comfy these “pool slides” are. And the best part is, we can definitely wear them beyond the pool!
Just take a cue from Ridley! The Star Wars actress was seen rocking these classic black and white sandals in New York City on June 25 looking as stylish as ever! The 27-year-old paired her adidas slides with bold patterned pants, a black cami tank top and a fanny pack (see, we told you everything old is new again!). Ridley was trying to hail down a cab in the Big Apple, so she made a very smart shoe choice since these are so comfortable!
The comfort of these shoes is really what makes them stand out. In fact, so many reviewers agreed, noting that this classic summertime staple is their most comfy pair of sandals. Several shoppers particularly loved the arch support these slides provide, which is something we can’t often say when it comes to flat sandals — especially with a slip-on design.
If you do remember this insanely popular sandal, you’ll recall that this slide on design has the iconic adidas three stripes on the top. Since these sandals were first released in 1972, not much has changed about the aesthetic or the design, but adidas has definitely taken major strides in the comfort department! These sandals have a soft textile lining as well as a contoured footbed for maximum comfort. A sandal that has been around nearly five decades clearly is doing something right if it’s lasted this long as a fan favorite.

The adidas Adilette sandals have an army of fans backing how awesome they are, with hundreds of reviewers giving these a five-stars approval rating. Of course, comfort was their favorite part, but several shoppers said they’ve been wearing these slides for years and loved how durable they are.
Many shoppers loved the fit and reviewers applauded how these sandals actually stay on their feet despite being a slip on. However, adidas does suggest women order two whole sizes down from their regular size for the best fit, so be sure to check the size guide.
A few reviewers mentioned that no other slides can compare to these OGs. As one shopper so eloquently put it, “These have been the gold standard for decades for a reason.” Everyone seemed to love the nostalgia these bring with such a retro design, and we agree!
