We all have our favorite pants in the closet that are our go-to’s for fit, comfort and style. We have stacks upon stacks of jeans, but there’s always just that one pair with a flattering fit, that work with everything we own or just make us feel good every time we put them on. We also have our usual trousers and leggings that get plenty of wear miles, like those black Ponte pants that look like leggings but are chic enough to wear to the office or trusty tailored trousers for special occasions and professional meetings.

But it’s not often someone says they have a prized pair of corduroys because velvety cords often get a bad rep. We’re here to change your mind about corduroys, namely because we found the most flattering pair with countless glowing reviews.

Enter the Kut from the Kloth Baby Bootcut Corduroy Jeans, the cords that may just make you a believer in corduroys.

These bootcut cords are made from soft, fine-ribbed pinwale corduroy fabric, so these aren’t your dad’s corduroy and are much lighter than those heavy cords you’d imagine a working handyman might wear. The softness makes these easy to wear all day, which is definitely something we always want for long hours at the office.

The corduroys also stand out from other jeans we have because there’s a slight bootcut, but not so much that they feel old school. This modern bootcut is just flared enough to give that retro vibe without looking like a 1960’s flower child. Plus, a slight flare is so on trend right now. We’re already imagining wearing these with a baker boy cap and plaid shirt underneath a sweater, but that’s just Us.

The mid-rise design sits right under the belly button so they’re definitely comfortable. Plus, the added bit of stretch will ensure that these pants don’t sag by the middle of the day but still won’t suffocate you when you put them on.

The best part about these bottoms is they’re not jeans, they’re not exactly formal trousers, but somewhere in between. These corduroys are the type of pants that work for almost any occasion. We imagine them being the perfect weekend bottoms, paired with a loose sweater tucked in at the front, a newsboy cap and wedge booties.

These would definitely look professional for wearing to work, too, especially with a button-down shirt, low-heeled boots and a patchwork tote bag. To look that trendy with minimal effort is always our mission, so these will be in our rotation on the regular without a doubt.

The Baby Bootcut Corduroy Jeans also come in so many colors, it’s hard to narrow down a favorite. There’s army olive, which is a dark version of the olive green color we’re used to seeing. The burgundy hue is extra deep and reminds us of merlot wine.

There’s also a very trendy cognac color that seriously gives off retro vibes. We can already picture creating so many 1970’s-inspired outfits with this warm reddish brown color. But if you’re not a risktaker or scared of feeling like a Brady Bunch family member, we can assure you that these are modern enough to pair with any sweater or button down in your closet.

If none of these bolder color options suit you, there’s also a dark brown called “brown bean,” charcoal grey and black which are equally stylish.

These pants run true to size and most shoppers have gone completely mad over how great they fit. With hundreds of reviews on Nordstrom, it seems these are the corduroys that have made even the most cautious fashionistas a believer in cords. Most said they look and feel like velvet and are extremely soft.

Others raved about how they fit just right, with the perfect amount of stretch for that slimming effect we always strive for. Since they’re made of cotton, almost all reviewers said they wash well, too, and retain their quality. Many highlighted that they did work for multiple occasions including casual and dressy moments.

One shopper even called these trousers the best corduroys she’s ever worn and several said they ended up ordering them in additional colors.

We didn’t even get to the best part yet: These pants are on sale! Currently, up to 50 percent off at Nordstrom with prices varying depending on the color, the Baby Bootcut Corduroy Jeans are sure to sell out — especially if shoppers keep on buying multiple pairs!
