Here’s a real question for you: How sick of cooking are you? Maybe what was once a beloved homemade meal that filled you with joy and satisfaction has now become one that induces groans. You find yourself reaching for processed, frozen meals more and more often, but the taste isn’t quite there, and let’s be real — neither is the nutrition.
Of course, there’s always ordering delivery or pickup. Many restaurants are operating at limited capacity right now, and only offering outdoor seating, so delivery or pickup make sense. You might personally want to avoid restaurants for a while anyway. But picking up still requires going there, even if just for a bit — and delivery can take forever. It’s like you order your food, whether by bad phone connection or confusing restaurant website, and then it falls into a mysterious abyss for at least 45 minutes, if not double that, until it arrives lukewarm at your doorstep. Sometimes it doesn’t even arrive at all. And that’s exactly why DoorDash is going to be your (and your stomach’s) new best friend!See it!
DoorDash is a digital service that works with over 300,000 local and national restaurants (so far) to deliver food right to your door. What makes it different than ordering straight from a restaurant? Tons — and we’re getting into all of it. How does it work? You can download the iOS or Android app, or simply use the website, and start scrolling through different types of cuisines available in your area. You can even get a little more specific, if you’re looking for a certain treat like bubble tea. Pick out what you want to eat, leave any special instructions you have for each item or the delivery itself, and then let your assigned Dasher take care of the rest! Pickup is an option too, if you prefer that. And don’t forget, you can even order in advance!
If you’ve ordered delivery, the next part is one of our favorites: the ability to track your order in real time. You can see exactly when the Dasher has picked up your food, and you can then follow them via map as they make their way to your home. This way, you’ll know exactly when to expect them. You won’t be left hoping the restaurant didn’t forget about you or throw your order to the wolves. You can also chat with your Dasher if need be, should your delivery instructions change or if your doorstep is hard to find!See it!
When your food arrives, no need to worry about greeting your Dasher at the door. The company is offering contactless delivery by default so no one ever has to feel uneasy about ordering food. Mealtime should be something that brings a smile to your face, after all. Food is fun! And delicious.
Ordering in a group? Another extremely cool feature of DoorDash is its group ordering system, which you can use up to four days in advance. Instead of passing around one person’s phone for half an hour so everyone can order, everyone can order at the same time! Only one person needs a DoorDash account; they just have to send everyone else a link. It’s that easy!
We already thought having such quick, easy and reliable access to so many small and big-name restaurants was an incredibly convenient service, but DoorDash has been spreading its wings even wider when it comes to the pandemic. Not only does it also now offer delivery from convenience stores such as 7-Eleven, but it just recently announced a partnership with CVS Pharmacy as well, offering delivery on food, grocery, non-food and non-prescription products. If you’re avoiding stores whenever possible, or perhaps someone in your home isn’t feeling well, a service like this is irreplaceable!
As you can see, your first order with DoorDash will have a $0 delivery fee. But what about after that? If you never want to pay extra for delivery, you should check out DashPass, DoorDash’s subscription service. Signing up gets you that coveted $0 delivery fee on any order of $15 or more from any restaurant with a DashPass checkmark. The service pays for itself with just three orders per month, and there’s a good chance you’ll end up saving money by using it. Give it a try — you can cancel anytime!
DoorDash is an amazing way to help out local businesses while staying safe. You’re helping out the Dashers too in a world where reliable employment can be hard to come by right now. Giving back while also enjoying a mouthwatering meal, delivered fresh? We love it.See it!
