We have a love-hate relationship with high heels. Who doesn’t? What we love: how they elongate our legs, how they dress up any outfit, how they give us a height boost and how they come in so many different styles. What we hate: wearing them. They can be so uncomfortable, and often dangerously hard to walk in. If we’re going to be wearing heels, we want to look elegant, not like a clumsy, stumbling giraffe! Giraffe print is cute, though. But we digress.

We’re always on the lookout for heels that take the pain out of wearing them, but don’t sacrifice style just to keep us on our feet. Here are five picks that aren’t only stylish, but comfortable enough to keep us dancing all night long!

Naturalizer Whitney

This chunky-heeled Whitney pump comes in three different types of finishes: smooth leather, shiny patent leather and metallic leather. The heel is 2 ½ inches high and its stability will inspire so much confidence within us that we could even strut down a runway during fashion week! It has a no-slip outsole, so not even a water or champagne spill can stop us. This shoe also uses contour technology and “dual density cushioning” for a soft footbed and game-changing arch support. It’s breathable, too! Sweaty feet are real, but with this heel, they don’t have to be.

Anne Klein Fabulist

This heel has over 300 reviews and nearly a perfect five-star rating, so it just had to go on our list. It uses Anne Klein’s iFlex Technology, which means it can bend up to 90 degrees! No stiffness, no pain. It has a kitten heel just over two inches and a strap at the ankle with a buckle closure to keep us from twisting anything or slipping out of our shoe. It also has dual foam layers for extra cushioning and shock absorption! There are four versions of this shoe, leather and not, and one of them even has a snakeskin pattern! Animal patterns are such an easy way to dress up a little black dress.

Clarks Adriel Viola

Clarks Heels
Zappos

This pump has a simple slip-on style for those who don’t want to deal with any straps, buckles or zippers. It comes in both leather and faux-leather, and it features an OrthoLite footbed for major comfort, even when we’re on our feet for hours at a time. The heel height is three inches, which is high enough to make a statement but low enough to keep us grounded. It’s not super skinny like a stiletto, and there’s the aid of the half-inch platform to keep us steady and sophisticated as we show them off!

Everyone knows that Ugg makes some of the most comfortable shoes around, and we’re not just talking boots. That includes heels, too! We especially love the Sandra heel because it’s the perfect transition piece from day to night. It has a thick block heel, an adjustable ankle strap and even more straps wrapping around the top of our foot. It also has a foam insole, a super soft velvety upper and a smooth leather lining for all-around comfort. One shopper said that these shoes are true stunners with a “red pedicure” peeking through! We can either get the Black shade or Antilope, which is a pale olive green. Or both. We won’t say no to both.
