Herbivore Botanicals was the key to Janelle Monae’s radiant skin at this year’s event. Her makeup artist, Jessica Smalls, used multiple skincare products from the non-toxic, natural brand to prep Monae’s skin, and they worked together brilliantly to create a gorgeous base for the singer and actress’ on-theme “campy” look, starting with the Prism Natural Fruit Acids 5% Exfoliating Glow Potion!

Smalls began by prepping Monae’s skin with this moisturizing magic potion. It’s an essence and serum blend that claims to exfoliate and clarify skin, using ingredients such as natural fruit acids, vitamin C, lactic acid and aloe vera. Shoppers love how it’s extremely gentle on their skin, but they still “wake up looking smoother and brighter every day!”

The next step was the Coco Rose Lip Polish, a lip exfoliator that also claims to moisturize and soften chapped lips. It has powerful ingredients including shea butter, vitamin E and Moroccan Rose Absolute, and shoppers say it tastes “delicious” and that its “smoothing” abilities are excellent!

Smalls set Monae’s final look with Herbivore’s Rose Hibiscus Face Mist. This hydrating mist claims to tone and soften skin with a base of coconut water and an infusion of rose extract. It may help skin retain moisture while offering antioxidant protection and soothing inflammation with witch hazel. Shoppers say it gives their face an “amazing glow,” reduces their breakouts and acts as a “refreshing pick-me-up” whenever one’s necessary!

Herbivore Botanicals believes that effective skincare can be 100% powered by nature, with no testing on animals. It develops every one of its products for “specific therapeutic purposes,” creating solutions for not just one skin type, but all of them. That’s part of why it’s become such a cult-favorite and even a go-to for huge events like the Met Gala. We have to say, we are really loving the minimalist packaging, too!

Monae absolutely slays any event she attends, landing herself on the best-dressed list time and time again. With her amazing Christian Siriano ensemble, complete with a motorized winking eye, she obviously killed it yet again at the Met Gala. We want to also put her on the “best skin” list, though, because wow, these Herbivore products seriously made her glow!
