As self-proclaimed presidents of the fan club for oversized sweaters, one of our biggest annoyances is finding a coat to layer over them. Sure, we love our daily chunky knits or turtlenecks, but let’s face it: In terms of layering, a really big sweater can prove to be a really big hindrance.

We get it — there are plenty of ways to remedy the style problem. We can choose less bulky sweaters, for example. We can opt for knits that cut closer to our body. We can even layer lighter knits under thicker knits and have no issues finding a coat that doesn’t mysteriously get too tight in the arms or refuse to button up. In short, the easiest solution is to just ditch the oversized sweaters or be stuck wearing puffer coats or jackets that don’t quite fit right all winter. Right? Not quite.

When we spotted the Leith Oversized Double Breasted Coat, we immediately knew our coat-hunting troubles were over. It’s the perfect design to wear with those beloved chunky knits we love. The fit is oversized throughout, so we won’t run into issues with the sleeves being too tight and the body being too wide. It’s inspired by menswear coats, as is evident by the masculine double-breasted fit and the cool notched collar that looks like the ultra-warm version of a suit jacket.

With that said, it’s definitely a coat that’s made to keep you toasty warm. It’s lined to keep the heat in and while it’s not made of wool, the polyester shell will certainly do its part to ensure you won’t feel the winter chill (but also won’t sweat through it on unseasonably warm days).

The pockets on this piece aren’t just for show, either. The two flap pockets are perfectly oversized, making them perfect for both stowing your hands for ultimate warmth, or for keeping your phone, wallet, keys or anything else handy. It’s the perfect coat to wear if we feel like leaving our purse at home, as the pockets are roomy enough to house anything we might need throughout the day.

The oversized fit is what initially drew us into the coat. It has drop shoulders that are designed to give us a little bit more room in the area, so we can be just as mobile with it on as we would be when we take it off. The Leith coat fits the same way a man’s beloved jacket might: Slightly hanging away from the body, with a roomy and comfortable fit. We don’t particularly love closing our jackets unless it’s truly freezing outside, but the double-breasted closure doesn’t inhibit the style at all — it looks fetching both open and closed, which is truly a feat for any coat.

The most impressive part of the coat, however, isn’t the silhouette or the shockingly low price tag, though more on that later. Rather, what we love most about the Leith piece is the plethora of colors it comes in. No, there’s no basic black here — rather, the coat is available in three equally-trendy shades.

First, there’s one go-to neutral shade: A stunning tan. It’s a slightly more brown take on the traditional camel coat, though the shade is still ultimately super wearable and easy to wear with just about any other color in our closet. Pair it with an all-black ensemble like a thick black turtleneck, leggings and point-toe ankle boots. It can also do wonders for an athleisure ensemble! We can totally picture it with trainers, track pants and a hoodie. It can also totally work for the office, should we need a great coat to pair over a suit jacket or blouse and slacks.

Looking for a different colorway? We got you covered! The coat is also available in a jaw-dropping hunter green. It’s a departure from the traditional pea green shade; rather, this one is a stunning deep hue that’s just as versatile as a more traditional navy coat would be. While the coat would look as great with black as the tan shade would, we think it would pair even better with denim! Whatever your preferred wash — bleached, deep blue or anything in-between — it would bring out the shades of teal within the topper.

Our absolute favorite color the coat comes in, however, isn’t the green or tan — rather, it’s the beautiful lavender shade, Purple Fragrant. It’s the perfect way to incorporate more traditionally feminine shades into our wardrobe without opting for pink. The stunning floral-inspired shade would look great with neutrals, though we can’t wait to wear it with formal looks and even sequins and glitter for New Year’s Eve.

Reviewers dig the coat almost as much as we do! Multiple shoppers say they get compliments every time they wear it and that it keeps them warm even on windy or chilly days. Most buyers suggested sizing down in the coat, as the oversized fit can be a bit much for someone not used to the shape.

The head-turning coat has a head-turning price, too! All three colors are on sale for 40 percent off the original price of $89, now only $53! The coat is selling out real quick, so we’re moving fast on adding all three shades to cart.
