We’re ready to give up cheaply-made sandals for good starting this summer, and we’re going to thank ourselves for it, especially when our feet finally meet this pair of Steve Maddens!
The Steve Madden Bandi Platform Wedge Sandal is the upgrade our summer footwear has been longing for. If we never thought the phrase “high quality” could ever be paired with the word “sandals,” these Bandis are going to change our mind!

These sandals have nearly 200 reviews and their fanbase just keeps growing. “Obsessed is an understatement,” as one shopper put it, summing up many others’ feelings. Another called them “incredibly comfortable and so cute.” One said they were so comfortable, in fact, that it feels like they’re “walking in moon shoes” when they wear them! Nearly everyone agreed that the Bandi makes the perfect shoe for summer — all day, every day!
These shoes have both a platform — and a wedge! The platform is 1 ½ inches high and the wedge is 2 ½ inches high, helping to elongate our legs. The platform and wedge are wrapped in a cork-texture material like a classic wedge shoe, but the Bandi doesn’t leave it at that. This shoe is all about Steve Madden’s iconic “cool and edgy” aesthetic, after all! Creeping up onto the cork is a contrasting white from the razor lug outsole, which features deep indents for traction and an unrefined yet purposeful look!
The material mixing takes things even further when we get to the upper, which comes in a variety of colors, textures and patterns. This is a slip-on style sandal, so the strap that wraps around the ankle is elastic, making for an easy on-and-off. Holding us steady are three other straps — one around the heel and two on top the foot. Platforms and wedges can be difficult to literally stay on top of if not designed well, so we love the strategically placed straps to keep us balanced and snug!

There are eight versions of this shoe currently available, with a couple selling out super quickly, like the black/tan version with a triangular weave pattern. Navy is also almost gone! Luckily, we still have plenty of choices, and we’re being serious when we say we don’t know if we could ever pick a favorite!
Each shoe features the same cork and outsole, but as for the upper, we have a lovely variety, and any of them would be ideal for an everyday sandal. We can go for solid black or choose the nude Blush, for example. There’s also the textured Natural Raffia or a practically glowing white. Into green? We have two green options for the Bandi: the deep Olive and the lighter Sage!
These sandals aren’t an afterthought; they’re an outfit-maker. We could pair them with a simple grey T-shirt and matching cotton shorts and we bet we’d receive multiple compliments that day. Now that’s our kind of shoe!
