Breaking Bad
Breaking Bad follows Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a high-school chemistry teacher struggling with a recent diagnosis of stage-three lung cancer. He partners with former student, Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), and gets caught up in a life of crime producing and distributing meth in order to secure a financially stable future for his family before he dies.
Other characters include Skyler White (Anna Gunn), Hank Schrader (Dean Norris), Marie Schrader (Betsy Brandt), Walter White Jr. (RJ Mitte) and Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk).
The crime drama aired in 2008 and ran until 2013 for a total of five seasons. Breaking Bad saw a rise in popularity before the premiere of the fourth season due to its availability on Netflix and received 16 Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards and two Peabody Awards. A prequel series called Better Call Saul aired from 2015 to 2022. A sequel film, El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, was released on Netflix and in theaters in 2019.
