For the first time ever, Jeffree Star is unveiling a new makeup line that’s strictly devoted to nudes. It’s called the Orgy collection and naturally, the sexual name has drawn mixed reactions on social media.

The 34-year-old teased the collection on Thursday, August 13. It includes a big matte eyeshadow palette, as well as “a mini palette, new lip gloss shades, a mirror, a new #magicstar powder formula and more.”

“This is a 30-pan palette, my biggest to date,” the YouTuber told his 7.2 million Instagram followers while giving them a look at the pink palette’s packaging. The palette cover says “Orgy” in all caps with naked bodies that appear to be Stars hanging off of the letters seductively.

Some critics pointed out that Star has a young consumer base. “You’re aware like 12-year-olds buy your stuff,” one social media user tweeted. “They’re gonna be asking their parents ‘can you get me Jeffree Star’s orgy collection?.’ The parent would be mortified.”

Others see no problem with the launch, noting that many popular makeup products have suggestive product names. Several Twitter users brought up two beauty industry favorites: Nars Orgasm Blush and Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara.

And, of course, there are those who are ecstatic to get their hands on the line. “Yes yes yes yes I’ve been waiting for this for so long,” one person tweeted. “Nudes are life for me, nude with a pop of colour even better. Something I can wear daily but still know its going to be quality because it comes from Jeffree.”

Star’s last drop was the Cremated collection, which caused quite a stir of its own. He was criticized for launching a death-themed beauty line amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The entrepreneur posted a YouTube video responding to the backlash last May.

“It takes months and months and months — sometimes a year plus — to actually make a product,” he explained. “There were some people saying, ‘Jeffree, it’s a little weird timing. There’s a lot going on in the world.’ But, for me, this is art and I never come from a negative place, you guys.”

He also told viewers that cremation is a part of his life. “On a real level, you guys, my own father was cremated,” he shared. “My two dogs that passed away last year were cremated. So nothing ever comes from a negative place in my life.”

“So if you take it that way, that’s how you articulate things but, bitch, not me.”
