Wearing a geometric, black and white striped long-sleeve gown that recalled an outfit her character Delia Deetz might wear in 1988’s Beetlejuice, O’Hara managed to both stun and delight on Sunday, June 9, at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall. The dress featured a whimsical black bow that tied around the actress’ neck. She finished off her goth-heavy look with a pair of Stella Luna heels, bright red lipstick and, of course, a black manicure.

Her phantasmagoric, Tim Burton-esque ensemble was no coincidence! The 65-year-old Schitt’s Creek star was on hand at the 73rd annual awards ceremony to introduce the stage adaptation of the classic horror comedy flick. The Broadway play scored eight nominations across major categories, including Best Musical, though it went home empty-handed.

She was simply wonderful. The original Delia Deetz, Catherine O’Hara, visited the Netherworld last night. She was as warm and friendly as she is downright riotously funny. @beetlejuicebway will always have you back.

The Emmy-nominated actress went to see the Tim Burton revival at the Winter Garden Theatre the night before the Tonys. Alex Brightman, who plays Michael Keaton’s original titular character, posted a photo of himself with the actress backstage. “She was simply wonderful,” he captioned the adorable post. “The original Delia Deetz, Catherine O’Hara, visited the Netherworld last night. O’Hara had a string of zeitgeisty roles in the 1980s and ’90s, including as the mother of Kevin McCallistar, a.k.a. Macaulay Culkin, in the classic Home Alone series. In Beetlejuice, her character, Delia Deetz, moves into a home with her husband, played by Jeffrey Jones, and her macabre teenage stepdaughter, played by Winona Ryder, that is haunted by its former, recently deceased occupants, played by Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin. The movie won the Academy Award for Best Makeup.
