About

Alex Rodriguez is a former MLB star, entrepreneur and broadcaster best known for his record-setting baseball career with the Seattle Mariners, Texas Rangers and New York Yankees. Rodriguez spent his childhood in Miami after his family relocated from New York City. He excelled in baseball from a young age, joining his high school team and quickly becoming one of the country’s top prospects. He committed to play baseball at the University of Miami before being drafted first overall by the Seattle Mariners in 1993, instead choosing to pursue the sport professionally.

Rodriguez made his MLB debut at age 18 and quickly emerged as one of baseball’s biggest stars. During his career, he was a three-time American League MVP and World Series champion with the Yankees in 2009. His career was also marked by controversy after he admitted to using performance-enhancing drugs, and he later served a season-long suspension in 2014.

Following his retirement in 2016, Rodriguez transitioned into broadcasting and business, working as an MLB analyst for Fox Sports and ESPN. He has also appeared on Shark Tank and co-owns the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves and WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx.

Rodriguez was married to Cynthia Scurtis from 2002 to 2008, and they share two daughters: Natasha (born in 2004) and Ella (born in 2008). He later dated Jennifer Lopez, and the pair became engaged in 2019 before announcing their split in 2021. He moved on with Jacyln Cordiero in 2023, but the pair confirmed their breakup in 2026.
