Tim McGraw has been sober for three years.

His motivation to stop drinking? His wife Faith Hill -- and some incriminating drunk texts.
"I only learned how to text because back when I was drinking, I would get in trouble when I would call my wife and she would find out I was drinking," the singer and actor, 43, tells PopEater.

"And then I started slurring my texts and I figured hell, I gotta quit drinking. Thank God nobody knew anything about Skype back then -- I would've never stayed out of trouble!"
Married for 14 years, he and Hill, 43, have three daughters: Gracie, 13, Maggie, 12, and Audrey, 9.
