Band, DJ, or…daughter of the bride? As Courteney Cox plans her wedding to Snow Patrol rocker Johnny McDaid, no one is more excited than her 10-year-old daughter Coco. As revealed in the new issue of Us Weekly, Coco is even planning to put on a little show at the big event.
A source tells Us that the Friends star's only child "is taking singing lessons" in anticipation of the Ireland nuptials. "She's inspired by Johnny and will perform at the wedding," the insider notes of Coco, whom Cox, 50, and ex-husband David Arquette welcomed in June 2004.
Singing isn't the only thing on Coco's mind, though. As her mom told Us, "She spends so much time thinking about the wedding, I'm letting it be her thing!"
Perhaps not surprisingly, Coco also had a big part in McDaid's proposal last June. In fact, at her request, the engagement happened at her birthday party at Jennifer Aniston's house.
Cox relayed the story to pal Jimmy Kimmel in September, recalling how McDaid, 38, first pulled Coco aside to ask for permission to marry the Cougar Town star. "He gave her a little diamond ring and got on his knee," she shared. "And she said, 'Great! I'm going to camp tomorrow. Let's do it right now!'"
With Coco's help, the Irish-born musician came up with the perfect proposal. "They made a plan to count down from three, and when they got to one, he was gonna get down on his knee and say, 'Will you marry me?' and she was gonna say, 'Will you marry him?'" Cox told Kimmel. "They planned it out, they found the perfect tree, with three branches that led to one trunk — it was beautiful."
Coco was so excited, though, that she started yelling out "Three!" in the middle of dinner. "She kept jumping the gun!" Cox recalled.
