Mariah Carey Drops Huge Clue About Babies' Names

Since welcoming their newborn twins (a boy and a girl) into the world on Saturday afternoon, first-time parents Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have kept mum on their babies' names...until now.

The singer took to her Twitter Tuesday with the tweet, "So we r bout 2 reveal the actual names and b4 we tell em 2 our friends etc. I had 2 C if any of the #lambily wanted 2 guess!!!"

To up the suspense factor, she added, "Both begin w/ M!!! :)"

Carey's Twitter followers have joined right in on the guessing game with names like Michelle, Markell, Michael, and even Mariah.

The 42-year-old has been known to allude mystery and was coined with the nickname "Mirage" back in high school. So it's no surprise that she and Cannon, 30, are being cryptic for this much-anticipated information about their babies. And with a slew of nicknames that start with "M" herself, (Mimi and Mermaid are among them), we can't say we're surprised.

But one thing that isn't a mystery is how elated Carey is to be a mom.

"I wish I could personally thank all those around the world who continue to send congrats and prayers," she gushed to fans via Twitter. "They're doing great and are the most incredible gifts we could ever have imagined!"

According to Carey's rep, the baby girl was born first on April 30 around noon at an L.A. hospital, weighing in at 5 pounds, 3 ounces and measuring 18 inches long; her brother followed, weighing in at 5 pounds, 6 ounces, and 19 inches long.

Im really tired of her keeping everything a mystery. She tried to keep everybody wondering if she was pregnant when we already knew and she was the same size of her house in LA. Now shes trying to keep the baby name a mystery. Shes seriously taking the fun out of her fans being excited for her. Neither of them have much of a career at this point so anyway for them to stay in the media they will do. Maybe instead of tweeting stupid clues Mariah change some diapers and Nick make some decision on when Degrassi is coming back on and cut the crap. After you tell us the name no one will pay anymore attention to you guys anyway. I think everything else on the news is more Important... Sorry to be so blunt but some of us are sick of all this shananagins with them

Um no Mariah isn't conceited she just wants time to bond with her children and you do't realize how much her fans mean to her. my guesses for the girl are Margaret & Melissa & for the boy Mitchell or Morgan [after Mariah's brother} if you don't care don't comment simple as that if it's not her that tweets them it'll be Nick

Um USmagazine correction needed the twins were born saturday morning not saturday afternoon as it was confirmed at 2:15pm Saturday afternoon where had they been born after noon LA time the earliest Mariah's publicist would've confirmed it would've been 5:15pm as LA is three hours behind NYC
