High five! A brave first grader named Zea was caught on camera by her father, Ryan Bowling, standing up to a homophobic preacher during Ohio’s ComFest last weekend.
The 7-year-old, who held a rainbow flag at the free community musical festival which turned into a celebration of marriage equality following the Supreme Court’s ruling on June 26, bravely stood her ground as a man wandering through the streets shouted about Jesus Christ and how the “world will give you heartache and divorce.”
Zea, who was later celebrated by bystanders offering her high fives, simply stood tall with her flag out toward the man as he yelled at her.
"This was not a march, or a political event. The preacher was accosting festivalgoers, including other families with children. His rhetoric, before being confronted by a small girl, was graphic, and bigoted," her dad explained alongside the video he posted to YouTube. "He was escorted out by police a short time later."
Watch the inspiring video above, and go, Zea!
