Courtney Love: Robert Pattinson Shouldn't Play Kurt Cobain

In an interview with The Canadian Press, Courtney Love slams rumors that she handpicked Robert Pattinson to play 90s grunge legend Kurt Cobain in an upcoming biopic. "Isn't that so stupid, who would cast him?" she says. "That's just wrong, no offense."

Her problem with Pattinson, 23? He's too much of a teenybopper.
"I watched the Twilight stuff very, very recently and I get it, it resonates with the teenaged girl in me, I understand epic love of that nature; I write about it all the time," Love, 45, says. "But isn't that silly?"

Who would she pick?
Ryan Gosling or Scottish actor James McAvoy.
She says she probably will never sit through the entire film - which is still in early production stages - because it would be too difficult. But she wants to approve casting and the script.
She says she hopes her pal, film producer Trudie Styler (wife of Sting), will act as her "proxy" to ensure the movie is done right. If Styler isn't involved, Love says she might scrap plans for the film altogether.

are they thinking about doing this bio film about Kurt and using Rob because they just did a bio film on The Runaways with Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fannning? Either way, i dont really care. I really only like Nirvanna because it opened the doorway for todays bands like Muse and other alternatives and for that i'll be forever grateful.
Why the negative remarks about Courtney's involvement in the movie? She may not be the classiest or the smartest but she was Kurt's wife and is the mother of his child. I do agree that Rob isn't right for the role. I don't really see James or Ryan in the role either. Maybe Jared Leto? Wonder who she would pick to play herself and Francis Bean?

I think all the comments saying "who cares what this skank thinks" are ridiculous. She may be a crazy druggie, but she WAS HIS WIFE... The did have a child together... Of course she should be involved! Use some common sense if you have any!
James McAvoy elevates EVERY film he's in. I have yet to see him in anything where he is less than brilliant. If he would do it, he SHOULD. I can't take Gosling seriously enough for this role for some reason. Rob is a good musician in his own right, and actually might be good, but the entire film will be covered up by the shadow of Twilight, which I actually do like. I vote McAvoy 100% Oh, and to all the girls who swoon over Rob, there's no way anyone can come CLOSE to the beauty of James's eyes... They are SO bright blue, in Atonement especially.

I can't see either James Mac Avoy or Ryan Gosling in the role. I agree with the person who suggested Jared Leto. He actually looks a little like Cobain, but I don't know if he is a musician. Don't know much about him and he may not be young enough. MacAvoy doesn't look young. Again I don't know if he is a musician either. Ryan Gosling looks nothing like Kurt and I don't think would be the least bit believable. However, I will probably not go see this movie anyway. With Rob in it I would go to see Rob. With anyone else it seems a pointless, misuse of Kurt Cobain's memory.
Courtney Love is really not smart is she? What does she have against an international superstar who also happens to be a fantastic musician and singer? Who would cast him? Anyone who has heard him, seen him, or actually wants to get people to go see their film. It is my understanding that Rob is not interested in this film. Could this be a bit of sour grapes?
NONE of the actors mentioned could do Cobain justice... Kurt was an original... a golden butterfly amongst a sea of moths. I'm sick and tired of the countless movies that were/are being made about him - they will NEVER come close to capturing the essence of his creative genius. Courtney *crackhead* Love doesn't deserve a say in ANYTHING to do with him, as she was one of the major reasons for his death & is continually using his fame to keep herself and her myriad of problems in the forefront of the media. DISGUSTING! Let his legend live on in the minds and memories of his TRUE fans - STOP THIS SELF-SERVING COW FROM CONTINUING TO PROFIT FROM THE NEVER-ENDING MISUSE OF KURT'S IMAGE AND CREATIVITY - which, as ANYONE who is a fan knows, is something he HATED from the beginning.

THANK GOODNESS!!!! Good move Courtney! Rob isn't even cute, let alone worthy of playing Curt. An unknown would be a great choice...Curt's legend will forever hold it's own. He was magical.
