Friends Tenth Anniversary: It's Been a Decade Since the Series Finale!
Happy Friendsaversary! Tuesday, May 6 marks the ten year anniversary of the series finale of Friends.
NBC's smash sitcom about six best friends living in New York City wrapped its ten seasons on May 6, 2004 and famously starred Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer as Rachel Green, Monica Geller, Phoebe Buffay, Joey Tribbiani, Chandler Bing, and Ross Geller, respectively.
The heart-wrenching season finale—in which Monica and Chandler prepare to move with their babies and Rachel gets off the plane to be with Ross—was just as emotional for the actors as it was for fans. LeBlanc told Glamour in August 2012 that the final episode was his favorite of the series "because of the sentimental value." He added, "That was a rough week. That was really tough knowing that that was coming to an end. The greatest gig ever. That was really rough."
In the ten years since the series finale, Schwimmer tied the knot, Aniston, Cox, and LeBlanc got divorced, and Kudrow picked up two Emmy nominations.
