Gwyneth Paltrow Shares “Jailbird Cake” Recipe After Martha Stewart’s “Conscious Coupling” Pie-Filling Diss

Gwyneth Paltrow posts "Jailbird Cake" recipe after Martha Stewart's pie diss

Not so sweet! Gwyneth Paltrow is seemingly throwing shade back at Martha Stewart. After the domestic queen included a pie-filling spread in her magazine, Martha Stewart Living, titled "Conscious Coupling," the Goop founder shared a recipe to her site called "Jailbird Cake."

In case you forgot, Stewart spent five months behind bars in 2004 on fraud charges and was sentenced to five months of home confinement following her release in March 2005.

Paltrow's black-and-white recipe calls for chocolate wafers, whipping cream, vanilla extract, powered sugar, and milk chocolate.

Stewart's sweet diss, however, was a bit more blatant. In the magazine's spread's introduction, the lifestyle guru mentioned marriage: "Every Thanksgiving table should be blessed with the presence of a long-married pair who bring out the best in each other, are completely enamored despite their differences, and leave every other guest thinking, I’ll have what they’re having. Our holiday pies honor such so there’s a pleasant mix of textures and flavors in every bite. No matter how you slice partnerships, each spotlighting the perfect marriage of crust and filling these six irresistible desserts, there is a whole lot to love."

Although Stewart has dismissed feud rumors, the ongoing battle between the two stars started when Stewart discounted Paltrow's credibility during an appearance on Bloomberg TV in 2013. "I haven't eaten at Gwyneth's house, and I've never seen how she lives. But if she is authentic, all the better. I mean, I certainly hope she is," Stewart said. "She really wants to be part of the lifestyle business… She's a charming, pretty person who has a feeling for lifestyle. She wants to be a lifestyle arbiter. Fine. Good. I think I started this whole category of lifestyle [though]."

Last month, Goop hired Martha Stewart Living's CEO Lisa Gersh. Following the hiring, Paltrow addressed the feud rumors as well and said, "If I'm really honest, I'm so psyched that she sees us as competition. I'm so psyched. I really am. At this point in my life I don't take it personally."
