Jana Kramer: I Haven’t Given Up on Love

Jana Kramer revealed that she still hopes to find love despite her fair share of heartbreak and troubled relationships.

After finding out that she made it to the finals of Dancing With the Stars, the One Tree Hill alum, 32, said she embraces the ups and downs. “I haven’t [given up on love.] No. I truly believe it’s out there,” she told Us Weekly and other reporters. “I believe in a lot of things, and love will be one thing that I’ll never not believe in because I look in my daughter’s eyes and that’s the biggest amount of love I could ever view. So I’ll never not believe in that.”

The “Circles” singer shares 9-month-old daughter, Jolie Rae, with her estranged husband Mike Caussin. As Us Weekly exclusively reported in September, the former NFL pro was allegedly unfaithful. “Mike cheated on her multiple times with multiple women,” a source close to Kramer alleged. At first Kramer was hesitant to leave the father of her child until a friend told her this summer that she believed a paid escort she knew was sleeping with Caussin. He tried to repair the relationship by going to sex rehab, according to a source, but the pair announced their split in August.

Kramer also opened up about her abusive relationship with ex-husband Michael Gambino whom she was shortly married to in 2004, on Good Morning America last month. She says she often believed he would kill her and she has suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder.

The country star said that her DWTS partner Gleb Savchenko helped her channel all that pain into this week’s trio routine, which received a perfect score. “I had so much fun, he choreographed an amazing routine and it was so cool because I got to play this really powerful person and he was like, ‘Take all the crap you’ve been through and put it in this dance,’” Kramer told Us.

She teased that the duo’s finale dance is going to be the best they’ve ever done. “We have an amazing song and [Gleb] is going to choreograph the most powerful piece he’s ever created for the finals and I have no doubt in my mind that we’re going to deliver the best story and reach millions of people,” she said. In the finale, Kramer and Savchenko will compete against James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess, Calvin Johnson and Lindsay Arnold, and Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy.

Dancing With the Stars airs on ABC Mondays at 8 p.m.
