Khloe Kardashian: “Intimacy Is Not” One of the Reasons Why I’m Still Married to Lamar Odom

Khloe Kardashian opened up about her marriage to Lamar Odom, saying "intimacy is not" one of the reasons why the two are still married.

Not that kind of love. In a new interview on Monday, Nov. 9, Khloe Kardashian said point-blank that romance is not the reason why she and Lamar Odom dismissed their divorce case.

"I'm still married for a multitude reasons," the Strong Looks Better Naked author told NBC News at her book signing at the Grove in L.A. "But intimacy is not one of them."

Kardashian, 31, confirmed that her estranged husband, 36, is aware that she is still dating NBA superstar James Harden, whom she spent time with this past weekend. However, the release of her book last week and the recent turn of events have created a rather uncomfortable overall situation for the reality star.

"As great as this book has been, it's just really bad timing," Kardashian admitted to NBC. "It's even uncomfortable for me sitting here doing something like this and I don't feel, like, guilty that I should be elsewhere right now — but I have to be here contractually. It's like a great thing . . . a fantastic thing happening in my life. Something else takes precedence, and I'm trying to manage through that and do the best of both."

Take a look back at their complex relationship

The blonder-than-ever star told NBC that she visits with Odom daily at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in L.A., where he is currently receiving world-class care. "[He]'s doing better every day for sure — which is a blessing — but it's going to be a long road," she mused. "And he has to walk that road. He has to walk that road, it's going to be a long time."

The current focus is on Odom's recovery — not the outside world. "He doesn't have social media," Kardashian shared. "He doesn't have his cell phone, he doesn't watch the news or anything like that, so he is aware from what I tell him or the messages that I give him — all positive and filtered things of course."

After a whirlwind romance, the stars married in 2009, only to separate in December 2013. As reported by Us this past July, both parties finally got together and signed documents in Las Vegas — but the finalization of their divorce was abruptly halted when Odom was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel on Oct. 13.

He remained in critical condition until he miraculously "opened his eyes" nearly 72 hours later. He has since been on an arduous road to recovery — overcoming near kidney failure, multiple strokes, and other serious health conditions.

During this time, his estranged wife rushed to be by his side. She and other Kardashian family members also convened at Cedars-Sinai this past weekend to celebrate Odom's 36th birthday with a little party.

"Definitely, when something tragic like that happens, you really reassess your life and what's important to you," Kardashian concluded to NBC News on Monday. "And that's why I pushed back the press for the book as much as I could."
