Megyn Kelly Talks Donald Trump During Stephen Colbert’s Super Bowl Special: ‘He Does Have a Beef With Me’

Megyn Kelly has been making headlines lately, instead of simply reporting them. The Fox News correspondent, 45, has been in a public feud with Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump since she first moderated the GOP debate in August.

When asked about the tension between Trump and her network on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Sunday, February 7, Kelly replied, “Now, Donald Trump has been on Fox News 140 times in the last year, so we are not feuding with him. But he does have a beef with me.”

During the special post–Super Bowl live show, Kelly refused to insult the controversial candidate. But she did have an important question for him.

“He recently said that his supporters are so devoted to him that he could go in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and he wouldn’t lose a single voter,” she said. “In response to which, I want to ask him, ‘Were you talking about me?’”

She went on to quip of the popular Manhattan avenue, “I never go there anymore.”

Trump’s “beef” with Kelly started after she grilled the real estate mogul, 69, about his offensive comments toward women during the August debate. He went on to tell CNN that Kelly had “blood coming out of her eyes. Blood coming out of her wherever.”

Trump continued to take several jabs at Kelly on Twitter, even months later. In January he wrote, “I refuse to call Megyn Kelly a bimbo, because that would not be politically correct. Instead I will only call her a lightweight reporter!”

In a Vanity Fair cover story, Kelly claimed Trump tried to “woo” her prior to his run for president. And soon after the magazine was released, Trump announced that he was boycotting the GOP debate in late January because Kelly was the moderator.

“Unlike the very stupid, highly incompetent people running our country into the ground, Mr. Trump knows when to walk away,” his campaign wrote in a statement at the time.
