Ladies and gentlemen, the President of the United States of America. President Barack Obama did a literal mic drop to close out his speech at the White House Correspondents' Dinner on Saturday, April 30, sparking laughs and cheers.
Obama, dressed in a classic black-and-white tuxedo, covered a wide span of topics during his speech, including Prince George, Hillary Clinton and, of course, Donald Trump.
“Last week, Prince George showed up to our meeting in his bathrobe,” he said, referring to his and wife Michelle Obama’s recent trip to Kensington Palace to meet with Prince William, Kate Middleton and the Queen. “That was a slap in the face. A clear breach of protocol.”
With a smirk on his face, the president continued, “Although, while in England I did have lunch with Her Majesty the Queen. Took in a performance of Shakespeare. Hit the links with David Cameron. Just in case anybody is still debating whether I’m black enough … I think that settles the debate.”

The president then addressed the controversial frontrunners in this year’s elections: Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.
“The Republican establishment is incredulous [Trump] is the likely nominee. Incredulous,” he said. “They say Donald lacks the foreign policy experience to be president. But, in fairness, he’s spent years meeting with leaders from around the world. Miss Sweden, Miss Argentina, Miss Azerbaijan.”
He similarly roasted Clinton, his former Secretary of State, by likening her attempts to appeal to a younger voting demographic to “your relative who just signed up for Facebook.”
“Dear America, did you get my poke?” he joshed. “Is it appearing on your wall? I’m not sure I’m using this right.”
Obama even gave a shout-out to Kendall Jenner, who was at the dinner, with a pointed quip that the model seemed to enjoy too.
“Kendall Jenner is also here,” Obama said at one point during his speech. “And we had a chance to meet backstage. She seems like a very nice young woman. I’m not exactly sure what she does. But I am told that my Twitter mentions are about to go through the roof.”
Host Larry Wilmore had his own jokes for the night, though they didn’t land quite as successfully as Obama’s, if the groans from journalists was any indication.
He first welcomed the guests to the fancy fete, “or as Fox News will report, two thugs disrupt elegant dinner in D.C.”
