Take comfort, 30 Rock fans: Alec Baldwin isn't bolting for Washington anytime soon.
Though the actor, 52, told former New York governor Eliot Spitzer on CNN's Parker Spitzer that he's "very interested" in running for office, he won't be on the ballot for the next few years.
"Alec has a contract with 30 Rock through 2012," his rep told Page Six, "and after that he'll keep his options open."
This isn't the first time Baldwin has discussed his political ambitions.
"The desire is there; that's one component," he told Playboy in a July 2009 interview. "The other component is opportunity."
