Vanderpump Rules star Scheana Marie Shay spoke about her split from husband Mike Shay after filing for divorce on Wednesday, November 30.

“Thank you all for the love today! It’s never easy to split with someone you still love, but we will always remain friends.??,” the 31-year-old tweeted on Wednesday, after Us Weekly broke the news of their breakup. She also tweeted individual friends and fans to thank them for their support.

The couple decided to part ways after more than two years of marriage and told Us Weekly in a joint statement, “While we have made the difficult decision to move forward separately, our story will continue on through the love and mutual respect that we have cultivated throughout our 15-year friendship. Much of the recent speculation and reporting on our relationship has been misguided, and we have come to an amicable decision on all matters. We might have failed at our marriage, but we are committed to succeeding as friends and will continue to support each other’s personal happiness and professional success.”

Prior to the divorce filing, the pair had a rocky few weeks. A source close to the couple told Us that “the relationship was strained” after an incident where Mike was unreachable for several days. In early November, TMZ reported that the musician failed to return home after band practice and that Scheana became worried when she could not reach him. A source told TMZ that Scheana worried Mike, who is sober after an eight-year painkiller addiction, had fallen off the wagon.

However, Mike later refuted the rumors that he was missing in an Instagram post. “I am not missing. I am sober. I am Happy!!” he wrote. “I love my wife and will always love my wife. Whatever is going on between us will stay between us!”

In an interview with Us Weekly from early November in the video above, the Bravo star hinted that fans might see their marriage unravel in the new season of Vanderpump Rules. “You will see a different side to our relationship this season, and that’s all I’m going to say,” she told Us.

The couple married back in July 2014 at Hummingbird Nest Ranch in Santa Susana, California. The wedding was filmed for season 3 of Vanderpump Rules
