Total Beauty Accidentally Tweets Photo of Whoopi Goldberg, Calls Her Oprah

UPDATE: Total Beauty apologized for its mistake on Twitter.

Uh oh! Total Beauty, an L.A. based website that provides beauty tips, tweeted a photo of Whoopi Goldberg as she arrived on the red carpet at the Oscars on Sunday, February 28 — but accidentally labeled her as Oprah Winfrey.

“We had no idea @Oprah was #tatted, and we love it,” the tweet read, with a shot of Goldberg, 60, in her gorgeous Old Hollywood-inspired gown. The square neckline on the bold dress, which was designed by The Danes of New York, showed off the actress’ massive shoulder tattoo.

The tweet was up for roughly 40 minutes before it was taken down, but Twitter users didn’t take the unforgivable mistake lightly.

“Damn. Is it really that hard to tell us apart @TotalBeauty,” one user wrote. “How sad and embarrassing.”

Other users replied to the tweet with GIFs of shocked, angry faces.

In January, the 2016 Oscar nominees caused major drama after it was revealed that every single acting nominee was white, for the second year in a row. The outrage sparked a series of reactions from celebrities and fans alike, making the hashtag #OscarsSoWhite a trending topic.
