Hollywood’s got a taste for this trend!

Plenty of trends emerged on the red carpet at the 2015 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, Jan. 11, in Beverly Hills, from winter-white dresses to sunshine yellow frocks and accessories. But one trend took Us by surprise: the rise of the reverse crumb catcher.

What is a crumb catcher, you might ask? Traditionally, it’s the textured, often-pleated pieces of material added to the neckline of a dress. Those pieces usually stretch outward a bit, 3-D-style, like little half-bowls you could (theoretically—and maybe practically!) catch things inside. Hence, “crumb catcher.”

Of course, the ladies of Hollywood are putting a fresh spin on the style! Camila Alves (in Monique Lhuillier), Jenna Dewan Tatum (in Carolina Herrera) and Nikki Reed (in Katharine Kidd) to name a few, were all spotted modeling dresses with an extra ruffle of material folded over the bodice, almost like a glam bib. Flip it up, and it would still have the same practical effect, but this take on the style has a much more modern, bohemian flare.

Another perk? The detail allow for more room than a constricting, body-conscious gown, which could make it a go-to for Hollywood’s pregnant ladies, too.

Alves, 32, and Dewan Tatum, 34, seemed to love their ruffles a lot—so much so, their dresses all boasted wavy trains, too, creating two ultra-romantic ensembles.

One man who definitely was attracted to Dewan Tatum’s look was her husband, Channing, who helped his wife carry the structured train of her dress throughout the night.
