Met Gala After Party Dance Off! Which Stars Danced to Which Songs?
The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala on Monday evening, May 5, took dancing with the stars to a whole new level! Huge celebrities including Taylor Swift, Lupita Nyong'o, and Paul Rudd took the New York City fête as a chance to shake their groove things, both inside the museum and at various after parties around town.
Us Weekly had an eye on the inside, catching all of the stars' best moves.
Longtime friends Sarah Jessica Parker and her escort for the night Andy Cohen, who once appeared in an episode of Sex and the City, got their groove on in a back section of the Boom Boom Room at the Standard Hotel downtown, where a star-studded party was held after the high-fashion event.
At the same bash, Divergent's Shailene Woodley stole the show, rubbing elbows with a slew of stars and dancing the night away. A source told Us the Rodarte-clad star busted out the robot to Missy Elliott's 2002 jam "Work It" and later sipped red wine while dancing with Rashida Jones to Beyonce and Jay Z's "Drunk in Love" and moved her body to Iggy Azalea's "Work." She capped off her night by getting down to Rihanna's "Man Down" with Kirsten Dunst.
Nyong'o, 31, also spent the night on her feet. The insider told Us, "I never saw her not dancing, she drank champagne and was twirling around." Rocking a bold Prada look, the Oscar winner joined a group for a little grooving fun when Beyonce's hit song "Partition" was played.
Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez reunited inside the Met, dancing throughout the museum in their Oscar de la Renta and Diane von Furstenberg ball gowns. Gomez, 21, later posted a video of herself sashaying with her pal, set to Dean Martin's 1950s song "Volare."
Back at the Boom Boom Room, Parks and Rec alum Jones, 38, didn't only show off her steps with Woodley. She hung out with her I Love You, Man costar Paul Rudd for much of the evening. The pair drank beer and broke it down to Jason Derulo's "Talk Dirty," the onlooker told Us.
