Fresh off his split from fiancée Bristol Palin, former Playgirl model Levi Johnston, 20, announced his plans to run for mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, in 2012.

"I never knew he had political aspirations," Palin, 19, sniffs to the new issue of Us Weekly about the father of her 19-month-old son, Tripp. "I'm glad that Levi has not given up on completing his education and is looking for steady employment."

Indeed, in preparation for Loving Levi: The Road to the Mayor's Office -- the show that will chronicle his campaign and search for love -- "he's going to take political college courses," Johnston's rep, Tank Jones, tells Us. "He's going to really deal with the issues."
