Reality TV is about to get extreme.
When Joe Simpson's new reality series, The X-Life, premieres January 10, don't expect to see hair pulling and table flipping. Instead, think BMX bike races and adrenaline-filled skate park shows.
"The [show] is crazy and it's amazing," Simpson told UsMagazine.com at his show's launch party Wednesday, held at L.A.'s Beso. "It's like Jersey Shore meets the X-Games."
The series, produced by Jessica and Ashlee's dad, follows three extreme athletes -- Pierre Luc Gagnon, Cory "Nasty" Nastazio and Jeremy Stenburg -- who risk their lives each day by competing in extreme sports including BMX biking and skateboarding.
Upping the ante on the adrenaline-packed series? The trio's wives and girlfriends.
"As you can imagine, these are guys who risk their lives every day. They're not going to pick boring wives or girlfriends!" says Simpson. "The women in their lives are more than their partners they are business managers, accountants and everything else. They rule the roost! And they'll be the first to tell you that!"
The X-Life premieres January 10 on VH1.
