Miranda Lambert Has Been 'Writing a Ton' in Nashville Following Her Split From Blake Shelton

Miranda Lambert is working hard on her new music — with Anderson East by her side. The country superstar revealed at the 2016 Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday, April 3, that she's been "writing a ton" recently.

"I've been off the road a little bit, so I've been able to kind of go into the creative mode, which is good. I’ve been in Nashville a lot, so I've really been able to write a lot with friends," Lambert, 32, told Entertainment Tonight.

"I'm not rushing trying to get a project done, just taking my time, enjoying it, going to see live music. Just kind of being in it. Just getting creative," she continued. "That's what I do. That's what I love the most."

Lambert's dedication has paid off. The star won Female Vocalist of the Year for the seventh consecutive year at the ACMs. She also took home Musical Event of the Year with the band Little Big Town.

"It's crazy. I'm so thankful. Every time I'm here, I just really can't believe I get to be part of it … It's a community that's so important, and I love it," Lambert told ET. "I don't take any moment of it for granted. All it does is make me want to work harder, honestly."

One of Lambert's collaborators just so happens to be East, 27. (Us Weekly exclusively confirmed back in December that the pair were dating following her split from Blake Shelton.) In January, the "Little Red Wagon" singer revealed in an Instagram post that they had a weekend-long jam session in Tennessee.

"Weekend well spent. @andersoneast 📷: @raytair #writin' #singin' #overallsandbeer #pencilandpaper #thecountry #weekendsoff #recharging #tennessee," she captioned the pic at the time.

As previously reported, the twosome made their red carpet debut at the ACMs on Sunday night. Lambert wore a yellow Christian Siriano gown to the star-studded event. "Yellow's a happy color. I hardly ever wear yellow, but it had some rock ’n’ roll to it," Lambert told ET. "And I had on heels with a gun and holster on them — can we talk about that? Hot pink with a tiny gold pistol. I was like, ‘Yes, these are the shoes!'"

An onlooker tells Us Weekly that Lambert skipped the backstage pressroom during the show and Shelton, 39, didn't stop for many interviews. The exes ended their four-year marriage in July 2015, and Shelton is now dating Gwen Stefani.
