For an alien-invasion tale executive-produced by Steven Spielberg, this new series is surprisingly lackluster. The action starts six months after an ET takeover. Tom (Noah Wyle), a scrappy professor, helps protect a band of survivors and reclaim the planet. Pretty standard stuff -- and it lacks the chills of the similarly themed The Walking Dead. Wyle is a warm and welcome presence, though. (TNT, 9 P.M.)
