What a remarkable movie debut for Elizabeth Olsen. She haunts as Martha, a troubled girl first seen running away from a cult in rural New York. Holed up at her sister's lake house, she can't shake her disturbing memories, becoming paranoid that the cult leader -- who renamed her Marcy May -- is out to recapture her. Each moment of this mesmerizing chiller is filled with dread, including the unsettling (if abrupt) conclusion. In a movie about lost identity, Olsen has found hers as an acting force.
