Steve Martin, Alec Baldwin Hosting the Oscars

There are two hosts for the Oscars this year: Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin.
"I am happy to co-host the Oscars with my enemy Alec Baldwin," Martin, 64, says in a statement.
Adds Baldwin, 51, "I don't play the banjo, but I'm thrilled to be hosting the Oscars – it's the opportunity of a lifetime."

Martin previously hosted the 73rd and 75th Academy Awards. Baldwin was nominated for a 2003 supporting actor nominee for The Cooler.
Both have hosted Saturday Night Live.

"We think the team of Steve and Alec are the perfect pair of hosts for the Oscars," said show producers Adam Shankman and Bill Mechanic. "Steve will bring the experience of having hosted the show in the past and Alec will be a completely fresh personality for this event."

17I think this will probably be quite entertaining. Like both of these guys. To Pam who stated below that she thinks Alec Baldwin sucks as a actor and a human - he's actually quite a good actor that has added interesting depth to several character roles in movies he's been in and we personally love 30 Rock because of him. He's been involved for years with animal welfare causes trying to make inhumane situations for animals less cruel. That in itself is hugely commendable. Yes - he can be political and you obviously share views that are more conservative but I'm sure you've expressed your political views before around people that don't agree with you.

Ok, what's the point? 2 hosts?!? Y not Robin Williams, Billy Crystal, or Whoopi Goldberg 2 co-host. No matter who hosts the show- it will still b atleast 3 hours long, the fans will only tune in 2 c what everyone is wearing & the ratings will still decline. Good LucK though!

The Oscars wants higher ratings but then they choose a host whose political beliefs and attitude aren't supported by the majority of people at home. Doesn't make sense.
Alec Baldwin said he was going to move out of the U.S. if Bush was reelected. He stands for everything I hate about Hollywood.
Well at least I know I don't need to watch the Oscars Baidwin,this man SUCKS as an actor and human!!!!!!!! Steve Martin would have been great by himself but Baldwin ruins it for me!
Get rid of show-killer Steve Martin, he's not funny. This show is not a co-host event. I'll take Alec Baldwin alone any day.
