A tango with trouble? While visiting Us Weekly’s New York City office recently, Dancing With the Stars‘ Val Chmerkovskiy stripped down and opened up, offering his opinions on some of the buzziest stories of the moment. When the topic of Kanye West‘s recent Twitter rants came up, the ballroom pro admitted he’s not impressed.
“I don’t know why he’s venting,” the shirtless hunk told Us Weekly Video. “Get in the studio and just record music. Put it out and people will celebrate you and compliment you for you.”
West, 38, has been in the news for his increasingly frequent Twitter tirades, which range in topic from $53 million personal debt to the relevance of his Grammys. “He’s embarrassing himself,” Chmerkovskiy, 29, continued. “I hate that because I love him, you know, I respect him as an artist and he’s making a fool of himself.”
The single stud and his older brother Maksim, who is featured on the new Skoozi app, also chimed in on another headline-making star: Taylor Swift. Though Maks would love to see his little brother date the singer — “She strikes me as a business chick, and I like that,” he told Us — Val’s crushing on Rita Ora, aka the ex-girlfriend of Swift’s current boyfriend, Calvin Harris. “I think [Taylor] is a great artist … but I can just tell her vibe is not going to fit with mine,” Val admitted. But Ora? “That’s my swag!”
